The Scope of Customer Relationship Management, or CRM, is an
essential part of modern business management. This CRM article is provided by
Ellen Gifford, who specialises in helping organizations develop excellence in CRM,
and this contribution is gratefully acknowledged. What is Customer Relationship
Management, or CRM? Customer Relationship Management concerns the relationship
between the organization and its customers. Customers are the lifeblood of any
organization be it a global corporation with thousands of employees and a
multi-billion turnover, or a sole trader with a handful of regular customers.
Customer Relationship Managent is the same in principle for these two
examples - it is the scope of CRM which can vary drastically.
Successful Organization Today’s
workforce is not what it was years ago, but management practices have not
always changed with the times. We now know that the strength of any
organization depends on how effectively its people are treated and how much
good will is created with employees. Managing people with respect, from the
time they are being interviewed for possible hire, to the time of their leaving
the organization, is the hallmark of modern, successful organizations. Managers
should be constantly striving to build good relationships and strong esprit
within their organizations.
Profit is a financial benefit that is
realized when the amount of revenue gained from a business activity exceeds the
expenses, costs and taxes needed to sustain the activity. Any profit that is gained goes to the
business's owners, who may or may not decide to spend it on the business.
Main purpose of customer
relationship management (CRM) cannot be dwindled down to just
one answer, because there are several reasons why a business would want to
implement a CRM system.
That said, perhaps the most obvious purpose of customer relationship management
is to help a business keep customers. Along with that, it helps the business
understand what it needs to do to get more customers. Another main purpose of
customer relationship management is to reduce costs by managing costly
complaints and finding out what services are useless for customers. This also
can help a company figure out if its product is working and, ultimately,
increases profit.
Customer
satisfaction refers to the extent to which customers are happy with the
products and services provided by a business. Customer satisfied levels can be measured using survey techniques
and questionnaires.
Modern Monetary
Theory (MMT or Modern Money Theory), also known as neochartalism, is an economic modern theory that details the
procedures and consequences of using government-issued tokens as the unit of
money, i.e., fiat money. According to modern monetary
theory, "monetarily sovereign government is the monopoly supplier of its
currency and can issue currency of any denomination in physical or non-physical
forms. As such the government has an unlimited capacity to pay for the things
it wishes to purchase and to fulfill promised future payments, and has an
unlimited ability to provide funds to the other sectors. Thus, insolvency and
bankruptcy of this government is not possible. It can always pay". In
contrast to orthodox monetarism, MMT explains inflation as being caused primarily
by resource constraints rather than monetary expansion.
